The General Lee gets a 2005 makeover, although I've heard that they are not going to use a modern version of the Dodge Charger in the new Dukes of Hazzard movie.
Courtesy of dictionary.com:The new Evil Empire (the old one was IBM). The basic complaints are, as formerly with IBM, that (a) their system designs are horrible botches, (b) we can't get source to fix them, and (c) they throw their weight around a lot. See also Halloween Documents.

Reading the latest posts in rec.music.artists.kings-x, I've stumbled across the blog of the design studio that created the artwork for the next King's X album, Ogre Tones.
An amusing collection of, well, stuff on cats.
He may be popular as a singer over in the European part of the world, but he seems to be more popular as a target state-side.
This Site Leans Toward Goodness

I have little idea what a "Gematriculator" is, but according to this site I'm running a site with 63% goodness baked in.
Scott's blog, however, has a little issue on his hands. I've always wondered about him...

James Doohan, aka Mr. Scott of the Starship Enterprise beamed up this morning at the age of 85.
A Brief Stop On Our Honeymoon In 2001...
Being a foreigner we weren't too keen on the neighborhood, but I had to at least stop at the place named after my favorite band (or maybe it was the other way around... or not).
It sends a little tingle up my spine to see the news reports and pictures of that very spot. Our prayers continue to be with the victims of the terrorist attacks of 7/7/2005.
Respect My Authority, You Will
According to this site I turned out to be Yoda. Which sci-fi character are you?

Check out the Narco Camaro, producing 400 HP at the wheels and hopped up with a variety of goodies for catching Bo and Luke.
Going Green May Mean Going Glowing Green
Wired has an article on how nuclear energy works. The explanation is sufficiently dumbed down for idiots like me. They throw in an interesting punchline at the end: The average price for a pound of "yellowcake" uranium in 2004 was $12.61, according to the Energy Information Administration. Gee, the latest Britney Spears 1 CD or a pound of yellowcake. [1] I used her as an example, of course, to try to generate traffic from search hits.
Happy Belated Birthday...
...to George Steinbrenner and Al Davis, both owners of professional sports teams -- George, of the New York Yankees and Al of the Oakland Raiders. Both are owners in the mold of Darth Vader. They are a year apart in age -- Al was born on July 4, 1929 with George arriving the following year. I guess it's just one of those cosmic curiosities. Oh, and happy belated 229th, United States.
A guide to Mr. Ford's copious use of the (index) finger in his films.
Pfizer Role In the Kelo Case?
Here's an interesting bit from Health Care Renewal:The basics of the case are as follows, as per the Boston Globe. Pfizer built a large research facility in New London, CT. A not-for-profit organization, New London Development Corporation (NLDC), planned to build a "sprawling waterfront complex of private housing, stores, restaurants, and businesses" nearby in the Fort Trumbull area.
[...]
The interaction between Pfizer, the New London Development Corporation, and the city of New London was more complex than more recent reports suggest. The NLDC, which dated back to the 1970's, was taken over by new leaders in 1997. One new board member was George Milne Jr, who also was a Pfizer vice-president. The new board president was Claire Gaudiani, President of Connecticut College, the wife of David Burnett, also a Pfizer vice-president. Milne visited the Fort Trumbull site several times, but claims he recused himself from NLDC board decisions about Fort Trumbull.
